URGENT ADDITIONAL SAFETY MEASURES AT GOCUP ROAD AND SNOWY MOUNTAINS HIGHWAY INTERSECTION

Petition details

This Petition of citizens of New South Wales and residents of the Snowy Valleys and the Wagga Wagga electorate brings to the attention of the House the urgent need for additional safety measures to be included in the planned works at the intersection of Gocup Road and Snowy Mountains Highway, outside Tumut. 

The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to: 

  1. Note and acknowledge the tragic collision outside of Tumut on the Gocup Road and Snowy Mountains Highway intersection.

  2. Call on the government to urgently review and upgrade this intersection with the additional safety measures necessary to prevent future tragedies.

Guidelines for signing petition

  • An individual can only sign the petition once - one person one signature

  • Every signature must be original hand-writing, and signatures must not be pasted on, photocopied or transferred in any way.

  • Every member of a household (from the same address) can individually sign the petition

  • The petition can be signed by an individual of any age, however they must be old enough to understand what they’re signing their name to

  • Individuals who sign the petition must have a residential address (this can be outside of NSW)

    • While the petition identifies petitioners as ‘citizens of New South Wales and residents of the Snowy Valleys and the Wagga Wagga electorate’, we have been informed by Parliament that the signatures of individuals from outside of these areas will count towards the petition  

How to get involved

If you would like to collect signatures for this petition, please follow the below steps:

  1. Print the below petition (single-sided not double-sided)

  2. Collect individual’s handwritten name, address and signature

  3. Return completed petition to one of the following collection points (hard copies not electronic versions):
